Social Engagement 101

Social Engagement 101

Social Engagement: What Is It, Why It Matters and How to Measure It?

Everyone wants to go social these days, and they should, because that’s where your audience is. Once you’re there, measuring social efforts is important to ensure you keep people engaged. But, do you know what social engagement is? Or, if it’s giving you the results you expect?

What is Social Engagement?

Social engagement is basically the process of engaging or communicating within an online community. There are many platforms where conversations can be held, like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, as well as blogs and review sites. The idea of social engagement is for businesses to stay in contact with their customers, promote their brand, and provide better customer service.

Did you know that when companies continuously engage with their audience and provide customer service over social media, it results in those customers spending from 20% to 40% more money on their products and services? True story. This is why social engagement matters. It can help increase traffic, boost brand awareness, and give your brand a voice.

Measuring Social Engagement

The concept of “engagement” can sometimes be a little hard to grasp. What does it mean, anyway? It refers to the interactions with your brand. Although every social network —including your blog— is different, there are metrics that apply to all of them, however, the level of engagement can vary from platform to platform. Here are the three most important social engagement metrics:

Social Engagement: What It Is, Why It Matters and How to Measure It

Conversation Rate

This refers to the number of conversations per post. That means tweets for Twitter, and comments for all other networks, like Facebook, IG, and Pinterest.

Applause Rate

The term ‘applause’ kind of makes you think of likes, doesn’t it? Liking a post is pretty much the virtual equivalent of applauding it or showing appreciation for it. Although, they are not called “likes” on every social network, except for Facebook and Instagram. Twitter has favorites, Google + has a +1, and even blogs have a way to show appreciation, which is usually a thumbs up. To summarize, the applause rate refers to the amount of “likes” a post gets.

Amplification Rate

Finally, the amplification rate considers every time a post is retweeted, repinned or re-shared since it’s truly being “amplified”.

To effectively manage social media, it’s not just about posting and forgetting about it. You also need to analyze the data and let it tell you what to work on, in order to improve engagement. This might sound like a lot, but it all gets so much easier when you work with experts in the area like Impressions Agency. We can take care of all this for you, while you manage all other important areas of your business. Want to work with us? Contact us for more information. The Importance of Domain Authority

The Importance of Domain Authority

Different criteria affect your website’s SEO. Domain authority is one of the most important.

Why is Domain Authority Relevant to SEO?

Domain authority is basically a 1 to 100 score which search engines use to rank your website and its likelihood to perform well in search results (SERPs). This score is calculated based on a variety of factors, including age, popularity, and size. It is a logarithmic scale, which means that it is much easier to go from 0 to 20 than it is to grow from 70 to 90. The higher your website’s score is, the higher it will rank.

This search engine ranking score was developed by Moz, and it has the ability to check the strength of a website over time. Based on the score, you can learn the age of the site, how popular it is among reliable resources and how much Google trusts the website in question. For example, a website scored between 1 and 25 might be very new or not trustworthy, 25 to 50 is the average score for small sites, that can usually be trusted and deserve attention, and 50 to 100 means that the website can be considered a serious resource.

Why is Domain Authority Relevant to SEO?So, How Do I Build Domain Authority?

Link building strongly factors into the process of boosting domain authority. Why? Well, when you start a new site, your DA score starts from one, but it increases rather quickly as you gain more and more backlinks and internal links. It is important to understand that the score you get is not a definitive number. It can change over time and it will if you make a plan based on the current results and execute it properly. The best action is to improve your overall SEO and work toward increasing the number of links —both internal and from reputable websites— as well as eliminate relations with low-rated sources.

Your Domain Authority score can be impacted due to many factors; some will have a positive impact, and some will have a negative impact. Analyzing your site’s data is a recommended practice, so you can stay on top of performance and take action quickly when needed.

New to Link Building? Here’s What You Should Know

New to Link Building? Here's What You Should Know

Understanding link building can really help give your SEO a boost.

Link Building Basics You Should Know

Everyday people, businesses, and media, in general, recommend, promote or endorse all kinds of products and services. If you think about it, they work as backlinks, but in the physical or offline world. Of course, the more a certain brand is recommended by others, the more exposure it will get.

Google works pretty much in the same way. As you get more inbound links from reputable websites, Google will recognize you as a trusted brand or business, and thus, your website will rank higher in SERPs. What does this mean? It means that links will impact your visibility in search engines. This is why link building is important.

What Is Link Building?

In simple words, link building is the process of getting other websites to link to your website. Mastering the link building game can give you a real advantage over your competition. Link building drives referral traffic to your website and helps improve your website’s authority.

If you’re new to link building, here are 3 basics you should keep in mind:

Link Building Basics You Should Know

Backlinks vs Internal Links

Backlinks are also called inbound links. These are links that originate on another domain and point to your site. Basically, whenever another website links to your website, that’s called an inbound link or backlink.

Internal links, on the other hand, are links that originate within your own website. For example, when Page A on your site links to Page B. Their purpose is navigational, but still contributes to your SEO and helps improve your ranking in organic search.

Quality Over Quantity

Links are valuable, yes. But, that doesn’t mean you have to cram your website with tons of links to your own pages all over the place. What truly matters is the quality of the links. The same applies to inbound links. You don’t need every random site to have a link to your site. You’re better off getting a few links from reputable websites than getting hundreds from sites with low authority. When it comes to link building, quality comes before quantity.

Valuable Inbound Links

The best or most valuable links are the ones that come from high-traffic sites, as they can really impact your exposure and bring potential customers. User-generated content can also drive a good amount of traffic to your website. For example, although Google has stated that social shares don’t impact SEO, they still represent a great opportunity to increase your site’s traffic, which Google does care about.

How Does Text Message Marketing Help Grow Your Business?

How Text Message Marketing Can Help Grow Your Business

It may sound simple, but text message marketing is still a rather valuable way to market your business.

Benefits of SMS Marketing for Any Size Business

Today, it is vital to get your business name out there into a world that relies on mobile devices as the main source of information. Simply put, SMS means texting but you can also identify as Short Message Service.  Even if it doesn’t sound like much, it is a powerful marketing tool, and it is just as important as other forms of marketing, such as social media.

As part of a well-designed marketing strategy, SMS marketing brings many advantages that can help your business thrive.

Mobile-Friendly

A business that is not yet mobile-friendly is missing out on very valuable exposure. These days, everyone has a mobile device and beyond making phone calls, its main purpose is browsing and online shopping. Mobile marketing is incredibly important for today’s businesses and text message marketing is a part of it.

The Benefits of SMS Marketing for Any Size BusinessOpen Rate is Higher Than Emails

Email marketing is effective on a certain portion of the population but emails do run the risk of getting lost in the spam folder or buried by tons of other emails in someone’s inbox, which decreases its open rate. Once again, because people are constantly checking the phone, and with instant messaging being the most common form of communication, SMS has a higher open rate, as texts are opened over 70% of the time.

Part of a Bigger Marketing Strategy

SMS marketing doesn’t have to be a standalone marketing method. In fact, it works very well with other types of marketing. Text message marketing can help you promote engagement with social media and get people interested in visiting your website. You can offer a discount to those who follow your social networks or send a discount code to use on their next purchase through your website.

Cost-Effective

SMS marketing is affordable compared to other marketing options, such as paying for Facebook ads, which is why it is a great option for small businesses, especially when they’re starting out.

Offers Flexibility

Versatility is always a great quality for a marketing method to have. SMS marketing allows you to be flexible in the way you communicate with customers to promote your business. You can use it to reward customers, promote a new product, service or event, offer discounts and much more.

The best way to get the best results out of text message marketing is to work with professionals in this area, who can help you design a marketing strategy that will work for your business. 3 Ways to Boost Referrals for Your Small Business

3 Ways to Boost Referrals for Your Small Business

How to Rev Up Your Referrals and Give Your Business a Boost?

Word-of-mouth is everything for businesses, especially small businesses. People don’t shy away from talking about their experiences with brands and companies. Did you know that about 90% of people trust the opinions of their friends and family when it comes to making purchasing decisions? So, word-of-mouth really is a powerful thing. To get all of its benefits, you have to be able to start the right conversations among your customers. So, how do you start these conversations about YOUR company?

Here are some tips that can help you get more referrals for your business:

Offer Memorable Service

Every time you do something that really stands out in a customer’s mind, you are likely to get a referral. When customers have a great overall experience with your business, but you also find a way to add value to their visit, they feel motivated to tell others about you. So, what can you do to motivate them to do this? Figure out how to make their experience memorable and you’ll be able to watch your referrals grow.

How to Rev Up Your Referrals and Give Your Business a Boost

Strengthen Your Online Presence

When person A tells person B about a business they love, what is person B likely to do next? Since we’re living in the digital era, they are most likely going to look up that business online. It’s only natural they want more information about that place someone recommended. If your online presence is weak, you’re going to miss out on those referral opportunities. So, get a good website with strong SEO, become social, claim your Google local listing and get some reviews, too. People don’t just want to hear about you, they want to read about you. Having positive Google reviews can really make a difference.

Be Proactive

Everyone has a busy life. Instead of asking for referrals and then just hoping they’ll eventually get around to it, you could take a more proactive approach. You could come to them, instead of waiting for them to come to you. Generating referral emails is a great way to do this. You could develop a referral program that goes with it to promote word-of-mouth.

IA Gives Back: Senior Support Services

Spreading the Love to the Homeless Senior Community in Denver

Giving back is part of our DNA at Impressions, not only because it feels good but because it makes an impact and sets a standard. We understand the importance of serving our community and strive to be strategic, not only in business but in giving, also.

Senior Support Services in Denver is a non-profit organization, which was established back in 1976 and has been assisting homeless and low-income seniors ever since, by providing them with day shelter, coffee, and one hot meal a day. Their services also include case management, with the goal of assisting seniors in having access to benefits and affordable housing. This is the only day shelter of its kind in the whole Denver Metro Area.

Not too long ago, a fire that occurred near their facility, affected the integrity of the building, breaking 40 windows and peeling off a lot of the exterior paint. The community came together to show some love to Denver’s homeless seniors. The amazing group of volunteers, which included people of many different backgrounds, different parts of town, and even different parts of the country, took on a variety of tasks like painting the exterior and part of the interior, repairing their fence and some benches, and doing some landscaping, in order to make the gardens more beautiful.

Impressions Agency had the opportunity to partner with The Lion Project, and together we made an economic impact of over $25,000 in benefit of this amazing organization. As a community, we have taken a great step toward making our homeless and low-income seniors in Denver feel loved, understood, and protected.

Check out the recap video for a little taste of what this beautiful day was like:

On August 18th, there will be another Senior Housing Options Service Day. If you consider this a cause you would like to support, visit The Lion Project website for more information. Let’s be bold for good!

The Value of Building a Company That Customers Love

The Importance of Building a Company That Customers Love

The success of a business depends on more than just a lot of one-time customers. Customer loyalty is key to making your business succeed.

Importance of Customer Loyalty

Customers today, have access to a never-ending stream of information about businesses, thanks to the internet. This makes it easy for them to “window shop” online, in an effort to find those businesses that offer exactly what they’re looking for. Whoever offers the best overall customer experience is bound to attract the most customers.

Although attracting customers is great and is the first step to any successful sales funnel, it is certainly not all there is. Turning one-time customers into repeat customers is where the real trick lays. Building customer loyalty is the new way to market your business.

What Is Customer Loyalty?

Simply put, customer loyalty tells you the likelihood of your customers repeatedly doing business with you. It is attributed to consistently providing a positive emotional experience for the customer, as well as being able to successfully satisfy their needs. The way your customers perceive the value of their experience with your business is what makes all the difference.

The Importance of Customer Loyalty

Increasing Exposure to Build Brand Loyalty

Customers won’t be loyal if they don’t see you. A big part of increasing customer loyalty is to make your business seen. Think of it this way. Let’s say you have a really close friend who you spend a lot of time with. That person is likely to be on your mind, so many of the things you experience daily can relate to a memory you have with that friend. That might generate some type of interaction, like a phone call or a text message, so you constantly keep in touch. But what happens with the people you never see? They’re likely to be less present in your mind, which leads to losing touch. Designing a way to connect with your customers in a more personal and frequent manner is essential to retain their loyalty.

Digital marketing can help your business increase its exposure and generate bonds with your customers. At Impressions Agency, our services are designed to help your business be seen, so you can achieve your business goals. Click here for more information about our services.

5 Ways in Which Digital Marketing Can Help Increase Customer Loyalty

5 Ways in Which Digital Marketing Can Help Increase Customer Loyalty

Acquiring new customers is not the only purpose of digital marketing. A good digital marketing strategy should also focus on retaining customers and increasing their loyalty toward your brand.

Driving Brand Loyalty with Digital Marketing

Once a business has a solid customer base, it can focus more on providing a great customer experience to retain those customers and increase profit, rather than on investing more money on acquiring new customers. Digital marketing can help you achieve that goal.

Here are 5 ways to use digital marketing to build customer loyalty:

Social Media Marketing

Exposure helps you compete in today’s tough digital market. Having a social media profile is not enough. You have to be active. Social media is one of the most powerful tools we have to build deeper relationships with customers, which can help you increase revenue and loyalty. Social media also allows you to provide better customer support, by providing a more personalized service, which improves the overall customer experience. The closer customers feel to your brand along with how happy they are with your service, and the all-around experience they have when doing business with you, the more loyal they will become.

Driving Brand Loyalty with Digital Marketing
Content Marketing

Creating content that is relevant and useful to your audience is a way to build authority, credibility, and trust. The great thing about content is that it can take many shapes, including articles, blog posts, videos, etc.

Responsive Website

Today, not having a responsive website is like having no website at all. People spend a great amount of time on their mobile devices, browsing, and shopping. Having a website that renders in and interacts properly with a mobile device is one of the best ways to get the attention of your customers and keep them engaged. A website that is not optimized for mobile will not provide an enjoyable experience for your customers, which means that they will likely avoid it, and won’t be motivated to check back.

SMS Marketing

How many times a day do you text others? SMS is how most people stay in touch and it poses a powerful way to interact with your audience. Text messages are likely to be read within minutes, which simplifies the process of communicating with your current or potential customers. SMS marketing is a great way to increase engagement and loyalty.

SEO

When SEO is well executed, you make it easier for your audience to find you online. As customers search for terms that are relevant to your business, they are more likely to find your website in the organic search results, which can help turn one-time customers into repeat buyers.

With the help of digital marketing methods, you can generate a positive impact on customer retention and loyalty. Impressions Agency can work with you to design a strategy that will keep your customers coming back for more. Contact us to find out more.
