Spreading the Love to the Homeless Senior Community in Denver
Giving back is part of our DNA at Impressions, not only because it feels good but because it makes an impact and sets a standard. We understand the importance of serving our community and strive to be strategic, not only in business but in giving, also.
Senior Support Services in Denver is a non-profit organization, which was established back in 1976 and has been assisting homeless and low-income seniors ever since, by providing them with day shelter, coffee, and one hot meal a day. Their services also include case management, with the goal of assisting seniors in having access to benefits and affordable housing. This is the only day shelter of its kind in the whole Denver Metro Area.
Not too long ago, a fire that occurred near their facility, affected the integrity of the building, breaking 40 windows and peeling off a lot of the exterior paint. The community came together to show some love to Denver’s homeless seniors. The amazing group of volunteers, which included people of many different backgrounds, different parts of town, and even different parts of the country, took on a variety of tasks like painting the exterior and part of the interior, repairing their fence and some benches, and doing some landscaping, in order to make the gardens more beautiful.
Impressions Agency had the opportunity to partner with The Lion Project, and together we made an economic impact of over $25,000 in benefit of this amazing organization. As a community, we have taken a great step toward making our homeless and low-income seniors in Denver feel loved, understood, and protected.
